GROW & GIVE

A program of From The Roots, in partnership with Punarvana.

Grow & Give brings nature into everyday life — through community gardens, free seeds, school garden programmes, and environmental education. Whether you are planting your first seed or tending your tenth season, there is a place for you here.

WHAT WE DO

Grow & Give is the gardening and food-growing arm of From The Roots. Through three core initiatives — and in partnership with Punarvana — we connect people to the land, the seasons, and each other.

FREE SEED LIBRARY

Free seeds for community growers — including our registered seed hub at King County Newcastle Library. Heirloom and open-pollinated varieties, kept alive and accessible for every gardener.

ADOPT A SCHOOL GARDEN

Empowering children to grow their own food — one school garden at a time. We provide seeds, resources, and guidance to establish and sustain school gardens that serve as living classrooms.

NEW HOME GARDENS

Every grower starts somewhere. We support first-time home gardeners with a free seed package and the resources to get started — whether you have a backyard, a balcony, or a windowsill.

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH PUNARVANA

Grow & Give runs in partnership with Punarvana — an heirloom Indian seed and nursery venture rooted in South Asian heritage and food sovereignty. Punarvana brings rare, culturally significant seed varieties to the programme, deepening our commitment to seed diversity, food heritage, and community growing.

Together, From The Roots and Punarvana believe that when people can grow the food of their homeland, something more than food is cultivated. Identity is cultivated. Belonging is cultivated.

GET INVOLVED

Whether you want to start a garden, borrow seeds, support a school garden, or volunteer your time — Grow & Give has a place for you.
