ADOPT A SCHOOL GARDEN

Empowering children to grow their own food — one school garden at a time.

WHY SCHOOL GARDENS MATTER

A school garden is more than a patch of earth. It is a living classroom where children learn that food comes from soil, not shelves — where science, patience, and wonder intersect. School gardens ease anxiety, build social skills, and plant seeds of understanding that grow long after the last harvest.

Every child who tends a garden carries that knowledge for life.

"Let them once get in touch with Nature, and a habit is formed which will be a source of delight through life." — Charlotte Mason

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS

From The Roots provides free seeds and works with affiliate organisations to offer additional support where needed. In return we ask for one thing — a committed garden representative on the ground.

Your garden representative can be a teacher, a parent, a school staff member, or a student. Their role is to coordinate the garden, connect with the community, and keep it growing through the seasons.

What we provide:

     - A free seed package to establish the garden

     - Guidance through the growing seasons

     - Connection to our network of school gardeners and resources

     - Ongoing support as the garden grows

What we ask:

     - A committed garden representative

     - A dedicated space for the garden

     - A willingness to learn and share
