OUR IMPACT
Every garden tells a story. Here is ours.
WHAT WE HAVE BUILT TOGETHER
Numbers tell part of the story. The rest lives in the gardens.
- Hundreds of gardens established across home, school and community settings
- Tens of Thousands of seed packets distributed — and still counting
- A registered seed hub with the Cooperative Gardens Commission
- Active across Washington State and growing nationally
- A free seed library at King County Newcastle Library serving the local community
- Supported by seed donors across the US including Burpee, Ferry Morse, Victory Seed Company, Osborne Quality Seeds, Sow True Seeds, HopeSeed Inc. and more
IMPACT ACROSS OUR PROGRAMS
Adopt a School Garden School gardens are living classrooms — places where children learn that food comes from the earth, not a shelf. Every school garden we support plants a seed of understanding that grows long after the harvest.
New Home Gardens The home garden is where food freedom begins. We have supported hundreds of first-time growers — from backyard plots to balcony containers — with free seeds and the guidance to get started.
Seed Library Our seed library — including our registered hub at King County Newcastle Library — keeps heirloom and open-pollinated varieties alive and accessible. We stopped counting individual seeds long ago. What matters is that they keep growing.
THOSE WHO MAKE IT POSSIBLE
From The Roots is entirely volunteer-led. The generosity of our seed donors and partner organisations makes every garden possible.

HAS FROM THE ROOTS SUPPORTED YOUR GARDEN?
Every garden we support has a story — and we would love to hear yours. Whether it is a school garden that transformed a playground, a home garden that changed how your family eats, or a seed that became something extraordinary — share it with us.
