SEED LIBRARY
Seeds are community wealth — free to borrow, free to grow, free to share.
ABOUT THE SEED LIBRARY
A seed library is one of the simplest and most powerful tools a community can have. Seeds that are saved, shared and replanted keep food traditions alive, preserve biodiversity, and ensure that growing food remains accessible to everyone — regardless of budget or background.
From The Roots runs a free seed library available to community growers across the US. Our registered seed hub at the King County Newcastle Library serves the local Pacific Northwest community, with seeds available for borrowing during library hours.
Seeds from our library are for community growing only — not for sale.
VISIT OUR SEED HUB
Our seed hub is located at the King County Newcastle Library. If you are in the area, stop by to browse the seed collection and take home what you need for your garden.

REQUEST SEEDS
Not local? We can help. If you are starting a new garden and need seeds to get going, reach out and tell us what you are growing and where. We will do our best to support you from our available collection.
START A SEED LIBRARY IN YOUR COMMUNITY
A community seed library can be established with a very simple setup — a box, some envelopes, and a commitment to sharing. If you are interested in starting a seed library for your school, library, or community centre, reach out and we will guide you through the process.
